A Nonprofit for Nonprofits & Community
Polly Flowers is a nonprofit that facilitates flower sales, fundraisers, floral workshops and events for nonprofits, featuring Polly-farmed rose-scented geranium and other aromatherapeutic botanicals, ultimately cultivating individual growth and well-being. The vision is a nationwide flower shipping organization dedicated to building resilience and independence among women facing hardship, particularly mothers residing in shelters, through floral training – a future where every Polly bouquet shipped represents progress in a person.
During our inaugural seven months (June - December 2024), we at Polly demonstrated a strong commitment to community. Polly raised and donated a total of $40,000 in funds, florals, and workshops to five deserving nonprofits. We firmly believe that a captivating visual presentation, highlighting locally grown materials and exceptional fragrance, significantly enhances a nonprofit's ability to attract donors and amplify its reach. Partnering with Polly offers a clear advantage for organizations trying to elevate their mission and maximize their impact. Additionally, Polly sponsored the City of Vancouver’s Grand Floral Parade, a $60,000 undertaking, which garnered the prestigious ‘Directors Choice, Best Depiction of Volunteerism’ award. A first for Vancouver in 30 years.
The momentum continued into 2025 as we embraced new and meaningful partnerships. Notably, we established a collaboration with Shriners Children’s to ship Polly bouquets nationwide, further extending our reach and impact. Polly also proudly secured the Grand Floral Parade’s ‘Royal Rosaarian’ award with our float, titled ‘A River Runs Through Us’ – a partnership with Vancouver’s Downtown Association, VDA, who generously provided $17,000 for Polly to procure flowers from local farmers across Washington, Oregon, and California.
Polly Grown Pelargonium
From our Polly garden we grow Pelargonium 'Attar of Roses,' also known as rose-scented geranium, to benefit nonprofits. The plants' uplifting and calming scent is lovely for volunteers to work with and recipients to receive. The garden is located at 1001 Washington Street where over 300 plants are growing until we expand fifty times that to one-third of an acre nearby in Fall 2025. See the garden here and grow with us.
Polly also produces small-batch rose-scented geranium oil and hydrosol via steam distillation, which are used to create Polly soap and bath salts. Though not our main focus, these products offer shelf life and additional employment opportunities where proceeds benefit nonprofits.
About a Girl
Inspired by lived experience and the nightmare behind Nirvana’s, “Polly”. Hi, I’m Megan Arambul. I’m a mother and longtime florist – owner of Fieldwork Floral Operation. I opened Fieldwork in 2010 after helping Sammy's Flowers expand throughout Portland and New Seasons Markets since 2003. As Sammy’s buyer and merchandiser, I bought solely from local growers and was a force behind the movement to 'support your local flower farmer'. In opening Fieldwork, I had an endless supply of energy to spark a new wave of demand in the floral industry. Over the years our efforts attracted the eye of tastemakers and landed us some really interesting opportunities from teaching workshops in Mexico City to foraging orange blossom on 100 private acres in Calistoga. Fieldwork operates from Montgomery Park in NW Portland. Nowadays, I am on the board of VDA, Vancouver’s Downtown Association, and work to create beauty wherever I can.

Art is the flower—Life is the green leaf. Let every artist struggle to make his flower a beautiful living thing—something that will convince the world that there may be—there are—things more precious—more beautiful—more lasting than life. —Charles Rennie Mackintosh
