About a Girl.

Inspired by both lived experience, and Nirvana’s, “Polly”. For over a decade I’ve envisioned Polly as a nationwide flower shipping company dedicated to employing women, especially mothers in shelters, who are striving to regain their independence. Working toward that, Polly is currently a less specific model that raises funds for various nonprofits through full-service floral sales. We’ll start here and see how it grows.

Hi, I’m Megan Arambul. I’m a mother and longtime floristowner of Fieldwork Floral Operation. In collaboration with VDA and Tieton Homes, we recently sent a float loaded with peonies, garden roses, foxglove, rose geranium and apple branches through Portland’s Grand Floral Parade on behalf of Vancouver, Washington. A first for Vancouver in 30 years. The city of Vancouver was awarded the Rose Festival’s Directors’ Award for the best depiction of volunteerism. I enjoy making beautiful things, working hard and spending time with my family.

Polly Grown Pelargonium.

For nonprofit fundraisers, Polly grows Pelargonium ‘Attar of Roses’, also known as rose geranium. I’m sure you’re familiar. Our small garden is located at Fieldwork – please do touch and smell their leaves as you pass by. The scent is powerful – we find it uplifting then calming. Time with it can be a therapeutic experience so it’s certainly enjoyable for volunteers to work with and recipients to receive. Currently we have nearly 200 plants in the garden with a goal to propagate and grow one hundred times that amount annually from March to November. Given unpredictable weather, the idea is to create a beautiful fundraising option for nonprofits at least six months out of the year. Polly will produce small batch rose geranium oil and hydrosol – our oil will be used in Polly goat milk soap which will be sold to raise funds for nonprofits as well. That’s the dream. Thank you for your support.
