The Polly Garden

I first learned about Pelargonium, ‘Attar of Roses’, aka rose-scented geranium, circa 2004, when an old friend and regular at Sammy’s Flowers, Naomi Pomeroy, came into the shop to preorder bulk bunches – said she was going to flavor ice cream. I was blown away by its scent. I have been growing it since. Thank you Naomi. Thank you Sammy.

2024, 2025.

Dedicated since 2004.

My pelargonium life.

Many years of growth and highlights below: 2014-2022. Scented Pelargonium have aromatic foliage that release fragrance when touched. There are hundreds of varieties. Polly focuses on ‘Attar of Roses’, but does grow apple, peppermint, black pepper, and citrus scents. Over the years we’ve grown ‘Attar’ for bouquets, essential oil and hydrosol, simple syrup, goat milk soap – you name it. One day I will make ice cream like Naomi.
