After operating for nearly two years, we applied for 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status with the IRS in August 2025, paying for expedited processing. Our application was approved shortly after, making contributions to Polly Flowers tax-deductible for donors. However, due to an IRS administrative error, an incorrect determination letter (for another organization) has been uploaded to our profile in the Tax Exempt Organization Search (TEOS) tool—for the second time. We’ve been in active contact with the IRS, including faxed follow-ups, to resolve it quickly. In the meantime, while we wait for the IRS to upload our correct determination letter, our tax-exempt status is still active, and we are running as a fully approved nonprofit focused on healing, sustainability, and community growth. Plant sales are our main source of income right now, with all earnings going straight to our Polly Programs.
