Update on Our Tax-Exempt Status

At Polly Flowers, we value transparency as we work to support partner nonprofits, the resilient people they serve, and local flower farmers through floral therapy workshops, flower sale fundraisers, and community events.

After operating for nearly two years, we applied for 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status with the IRS in August 2025 and paid for expedited processing to ensure timely approval. We’re pleased to confirm that our application was approved shortly thereafter, granting us tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3). This means contributions to Polly Flowers are tax-deductible for donors. However, due to an administrative error on the IRS side, an incorrect determination letter (belonging to another organization) has been uploaded to our profile in the IRS Tax Exempt Organization Search (TEOS) tool. This is the second time this has happened, and we’ve been in active communication with the IRS, including faxing follow-up requests, to correct it promptly.

In the meantime, our tax-exempt status remains in effect, and we’re operating as a fully recognized nonprofit dedicated to healing, sustainability, and community growth. We’re hosting plant sales where all proceeds directly benefit our Polly Programs. If you’re considering a direct donation, rest assured that once the correct letter is posted (expected soon), deductibility applies retroactively to qualifying contributions made during this period.

We appreciate your patience and continued support. If you have questions, feel free to contact me at megan@pollyflowers.com. We’ll update this page as soon as the IRS resolves the upload issue.
